Sampling and Monitoring Assessments in Schools

BioMax Environmental’s Senior Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) has performed contaminant sampling and site monitoring at many schools and school districts located throughout California.  The extremely sensitive nature of such assessment activities performed at schools certainly requires extensive experience and a keen professional understanding and aptitude for risk communication and hazard communication.  In fact,   BioMax professionals also regularly attend community and school district meetings where the technical data and findings of our assessments are clearly presented to all affected parties ranging from the school’s administrative personnel to the concerned parents of affected children.

Our assessment activities within schools routinely include sampling for indoor air quality contaminants, microbial (mold) contaminants, lead and asbestos surveys, as well as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) which are common to the indoor working school environments.  Our assessment activities follow recognized industry practices and guidelines such as those published by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) in their document entitled Mold Remediation in Schools and Commercial Buildings published in September 2008 (EPA 402-K-01-001).  BioMax professional Certified Industrial Hygienists also develop and prepare detailed work plans and remediation procedures for use by mitigation contractors during the clean-up  and decontamination of contaminants as necessary.
